Director of Professional Services & Enablement
Help build the professional education and practitioner ecosystem behind the AIGAS Standard.
The Opportunity
AIGAS is developing an independent AI governance and assurance standard specifically for the accountancy profession.
As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into accounting practices, we believe firms of every size need access to practical, credible and proportionate governance frameworks that support responsible adoption.
Our ambition extends beyond developing a Standard. We are working to establish the professional infrastructure, training programmes and practitioner ecosystem required to support its consistent implementation across the accountancy sector.
To help achieve this, we are planning the appointment of a Director of Professional Services & Enablement.
This is an opportunity for an experienced professional to establish, lead and develop a core function within an emerging standards organisation.
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the AIGAS professional education and enablement strategy, develop comprehensive training programmes and build the operational foundations needed to support a growing network of Certified Service Providers (CSPs).
This is not simply a training delivery role.
We are seeking someone capable of building a professional enablement function from the ground up, combining strategic thinking, technical understanding, practical execution and strong leadership.
The Role
The Director of Professional Services & Enablement will be responsible for developing and leading the education, training and practitioner enablement activities supporting the AIGAS Standard.
Working alongside the CEO and wider leadership team, the successful candidate will play a central role in ensuring that AIGAS requirements are translated into accessible, effective and consistently delivered learning programmes.
The role will support the development of professional competence across the CSP network and help establish scalable systems for training, onboarding, continuing development and practical implementation support.
The Director will be expected to take significant ownership of the function, making informed recommendations and driving its development without relying on the founder to design every process or programme.
Key Responsibilities
Professional Education and Curriculum Development
- Develop and own the AIGAS professional training and education strategy.
- Design, build and maintain a structured training curriculum supporting the AIGAS Standard.
- Develop learning pathways for Certified Service Providers, accounting firms and other relevant practitioners.
- Translate the Standard’s technical and governance requirements into practical learning outcomes.
- Create professional training materials, workshops, case studies, exercises, assessments and supporting resources.
- Develop learning programmes suitable for different levels of professional and technical experience.
- Establish processes for reviewing and updating training content as the Standard evolves.
- Explore opportunities for CPD recognition and partnerships with relevant professional education organisations.
Certified Service Provider Enablement
- Lead the development and delivery of the CSP training and onboarding programme.
- Establish consistent learning and preparation pathways for new CSPs.
- Develop practical resources that support consistent implementation of the Standard.
- Create a structured programme of refresher training and continuing professional development.
- Support CSPs in understanding how to apply AIGAS requirements across accounting firms of different sizes.
- Identify learning gaps and continuously improve training resources and practitioner support.
- Work with the Standards & Assurance function to ensure training reflects approved requirements and technical interpretations.
Implementation Methodology and Resources
- Develop a consistent implementation methodology for the AIGAS Standard.
- Produce practical toolkits, templates, checklists and supporting implementation guidance.
- Develop resources supporting Bronze readiness and Silver preparation.
- Ensure the resources are suitable for sole practitioners, small practices, growing firms and larger accounting organisations.
- Collaborate with the technology team to ensure implementation resources complement the AIGAS platform.
- Identify recurring challenges encountered by practitioners and develop practical solutions.
Training Delivery and Quality
- Establish appropriate delivery methods, including instructor-led, online, self-paced and blended learning.
- Deliver selected training programmes directly where appropriate.
- Develop and manage relationships with external trainers and education partners.
- Establish training quality standards and learning evaluation processes.
- Monitor participant feedback, training outcomes and programme effectiveness.
- Develop scalable operational systems for training administration, records and learning management.
- Ensure programmes remain current, consistent and professionally delivered.
Leadership and Organisational Development
- Establish the operational structure of the Professional Services & Enablement function.
- Develop budgets, delivery plans, priorities and performance measures.
- Build the processes and documentation required for a sustainable and scalable operation.
- Identify future staffing, trainer and specialist resource requirements.
- Work closely with the CEO to support the long-term development of the AIGAS professional ecosystem.
- Represent AIGAS in relevant professional education discussions, events and industry forums.
- Establish a function that can operate effectively without continuous founder involvement.
Working with Standards & Assurance
AIGAS places significant importance on maintaining the distinction between professional education, implementation support and independent assurance.
The Director of Professional Services & Enablement will work closely with the Director of Standards & Assurance to ensure that all training programmes and implementation resources accurately reflect the approved Standard.
The Professional Services & Enablement function will not determine independent certification outcomes or change formal assessment requirements.
